Happy Halloween!

We had tons of fun in art class on Thursday and Friday...painting with electronic bats, thinking about spooky color palettes, taking apart our old radio and thinking about how we might use the parts to build sculpture this winter, and even some of us learning how to use the table loom!

Mia painting away, balancing play and artistic exploration, control and at the same time letting go...

Fyona having fun with our artistic electric bat...painting in red and focusing on the center of the paper space.

Daniel and Christy having a blast finding new caverns and crevices of the old stereo, pulling out parts they didn't imagine could be inside! We're keeping a dialogue going about how we might use the parts we collect...sculpture? collage?

Maggie the Owl giving the loom a try for the first time, sliding the shuttle between the strands of the warp.

Emrik (taking a break from his big costume) experimenting with oil pastels and paint, what happens when we make the paint watery or thick? Does the oil resist the water? Playing with halloweeny reds, oranges, and black!
